Five more names will be added to our prize drawing for volunteers. Thanks to Chuck & Karen, Curtis J., Dave C. & Bamboo Dave for helping at the Earth Day SCBC booth.  It was a warm but rewarding day as we shared information on our club, bike paths and safety.

Our volunteer prizes this year will include a full service tune-up at FunSports, a massage session, and more items to come. Don’t miss your opportunity to volunteer and win these prizes.

We have SO MANY MORE volunteer opportunities this month:
Turlock Lake Road Race (May 6), Ride For Mom (May 12), Family Cycling Festival (May 19), Modesto Crit (May 19), Modesto Road Race (May 20).

I’ll be out for SCBC. Hope to see you, too!

Susan

P.S. It was wonderful to see so many of you come to ride our Fruit Yard Century Pre-Ride. Tell us what you think of the route: jackq@stancobike.org.

Ever wonder if your friends will be coming to the rides?  Want to have more reasons to ride?
Remember to post your plans on SCBC Yahoo! Groups or the SCBC Facebook page.

One reason to ride in a group is so that you GO.  Be the one to help others GO!  Post your intentions the day before.

Thanks to Dave Enz for speaking at our last general meeting on the new bike equipment coming out.  Now I know what I want for my birthday!

What a wonderful start to a New Year!

The New Year’s Day Ride was a huge success with about 100 people stopping to eat at Frank Raines Hall.

Thanks to Gary Vacarro, who kept us in warm scrambled eggs and blew the place clean before we left and to Chuck & John who greeted and organized.

As we start the new year, we are already looking forward to SCBC volunteer needs.  We will be involved in these community wide events to help support biking and a more healthy lifestyle.

Please mark your calendars and let me know if you can help:
March 18 – Modesto Marathon – ‘riding SAG’ people are needed
Apr. 21 – Earth Day – SCBC booth, handing out information
May 6 – Turlock Lake Road Race (CdV) – course marshals needed
May 12 – Ride for Mom & health fair – SCBC booth and all volunteer positions
(I’m the volunteer coordinator! : )
May ?? – Ride to Work Day – SCBC booth
May 19 – Family Cycling Event – crit, SCBC booth
May 20 – Modesto Road Race – course marshals

Have a great riding year!

Susan
