Happy Holiday riding!

Remember, our Holiday gathering on Sat. Dec. 15.

And after that, we have our annual New Year’s Day ride.  All SCBC club members eat for free including anyone who joins SCBC New Year’s Day!

This year, Oakdale Bicycle Shop is donating raffle prizes for anyone joining the club, or renewing their membership on January 1st!  Come out for the ride good food and all the fun!

If you’d like to join us in Del Puerto Canyon but don’t want to ride, we can use a couple more people to help with set-up and cooking at the meeting hall at mile marker 16.  Please e-mail me at president@stancobike.org to let me know you can help.

Thanks!

Susan Dion
SCBC President

Ever wonder if your friends will be coming to the rides?  Want to have more reasons to ride?
Remember to post your plans on SCBC Yahoo! Groups or the SCBC Facebook page.

One reason to ride in a group is so that you GO.  Be the one to help others GO!  Post your intentions the day before.

Thanks to Dave Enz for speaking at our last general meeting on the new bike equipment coming out.  Now I know what I want for my birthday!

This year’s SCBC trip to Tahoe was fantastic! We rode, hiked, ate, talked and enjoyed the awesome weather.

The water was abundant everywhere and made for beautiful waterfalls and the constant soothing bubbling of water running over rocks.

I hope more of you mark your calendars to come on this trip next year, you won’t be sorry! Set aside the week after Father’s Day.

I hope you are enjoying your summer riding season as much as I am! Remember to come out for the rides at Dave’s and Bob’s as we also bbq and swim. Thanks for being our hosts – Dave & Bob!

And you can also join us for the 4th of July parade. Come decorate your bike and ride in the parade for SCBC.

See you riding,

Susan

May is such a busy month for us! Please see our volunteer opportunities in Pacelines for activities during the month of May. Right now,we have 270 volunteers for the Tour of California. We need 450, so tell a friend or three!

If you haven’t volunteered for one of the many available positions yet for the Tour of California Event, Tuesday, May 17, then please sign up at: www.modestogov.com/amgen/getinvolved/.

I will see you at the many activities as SCBC strives to make bicycling safer and more visible to the community.

Thanks for helping make that a reality!
