Wow!  Taking over all the duties that Lynn Reeves used to do for our club has taken a lot of time!  It will take about five of us to fill her shoes.  If you know Lynn, please thank her for helping all these years (and thank John Field for financing that!)

And a special thank you goes to those five people who stepped up to help take over these duties, too. Very important:  The Fruit Yard Century Organizing Committee is starting their meetings now.  This is SCBC’s major fundraiser for the year.  We are hoping to have meetings once a month, or as needed, to organize in all aspects of this event.

If you have ideas that you feel might make the Fruit Yard Century a better event, please help.  You can make a difference in how successful our event becomes.  We are hoping to involve as many club members as we can in this event.  Think of ways you might be able to make a contribution, and then please consider joining the FYC Organizing Committee!

Spring riding is coming!

If you didn’t see my pleas for help, we still need a few more volunteers to be at the SCBC booth at the Cancer Awareness Run & Ride. So many of our members actually help Memorial at this event that we need to recruit a few more for our booth.

Thanks to our hosts for our swim & rides in August:  Bob Kimball & Jim Elam.  Also, thanks to Lisa for hosting Danica’s goodbye party.  I was really nice to ride, eat, swim and socialize at all these gatherings!

Don’t forget to join us for the September general meeting for Chile Verde and black bean salsa burgers.   It will be our last out-door meeting as we move indoors to plan for the Cheese & Wine Century.

Thanks to our club volunteers on the STANCOG advisory board, we may be seeing ‘Share the Road’ signs on the roads of Stanislaus County!!  SCBC has given a ‘starter’ list of sign placement suggestions to STANCOG, with more to come!

Thank you for your suggestions.  We will continue to give placement suggestions as money becomes available and your ideas keep coming in!

Keep riding in safety,

Susan
