VE

Mostly flat, very slight rolling hills; 50-100ft of climbing.

E

More rolling hills; 100-300ft of climbing.

MOD

Rolling hills; 800ft of 3-5% grade.

HARD

Rolling hills; 800ft of 3-5% grade with an additional 800ft of 7-12% grade.

RIDE INFORMATION

  • Rides leave promptly at times listed. Arrive 5-10 minutes early.
  • Helmets are required on all rides
  • All rides will start as listed in the ride schedule, weather permitting
  • At all destination (except Frank Rains Park) we normally stop and eat breakfast or a snack.  Knights Ferry, Snelling and La Grange have a great pancake breakfast.  Bloomingcamps has great pies and snacks.  On Riverbank and Ripon rides, we go to a local cafe'.
  • The starting times and distances on each ride allow different levels of riders to arrive at the destinations at approximately the same time.

*Evening rides start 5:30 PM - SEPT - APRIL

*All year round bring headlight when dark.

Parking lot of Turlock Lake. (Take Hwy 132 to Waterford. Turn right on Hickman Rd. Go 1.1 miles, turn left on Lake Road. Go approximately 10 miles, park in Turlock Lake parking lot.

Parking lot of Ace Hardware at the corner of Yosemite and F Street, Waterford.

WL Loop -

Ride Classes:

*Pace ratings are based on level ground, non-paceline speeds. Actual speeds may vary up or down slightly due to terrain and weather conditions.

  E -----------------PACE VARIES-----------------

Good for families with young children. Riding down in La Loma Park on bicycle trail.

  D ------------SLOW TO LEISURELY ------------

10 - 12mph - Good for families with children over 12 or as introductory ride. Regroups often as necessary; waits for slower riders; no one gets dropped.

  C -------------------MODERATE------------------

12 - 15 mph - Beginning to good riders. Regroups every 5 to 8 miles; waits for slower riders; no one gets dropped.

  B ---------------------BRISK----------------------

16 - 20 mph - Experienced riders. Regroups every 10 to 12 miles; may require paceline riding; waits for slower riders.

  A ----------------------FAST----------------------

21+ mph - Strong to very strong riders. Requires paceline riding; may regroup every 15 to 20 miles; but no obligation to wait.
